I know, this isn't exactly a "night shot"...but it was so pretty, I couldn't help but post it!
F5, 1/3, ISO 1600
F9, 15sec, ISO 1600
F13, 30 sec, ISO 1600
F29, 30 sec, ISO 1600
F6.3, 10sec, ISO 800......I'd love your suggestions on how I could have made this fountain more "sharp". THANKS.
Lots of fun night painting, I'm guessing you used sprinklers! #5 is my favorite, so festive! Suggestion, on #1 the horizon line is tilted, and it's a stunning dusk shot. Was your camera hand held in #6?
ReplyDeleteI think you meant to say 'sparklers'....but that's not what I used. I used steel wool within a kitchen wisk lit on fire and spun around by my 'assistant' (LOL).
Delete#1 is tilted....of course it is.....and I even "fixed" it so it would be straight!! My eye is just not good at getting it exact!
On #6, the camera is resting on a railing but I had to tilt it downward by hand....so yes, that may have been the whole 'issue' with that one. I wasn't able to tripod it and get the shot. Hmmm, actually, I should have taken more time and USED the tripod and simply extended the legs as far as I could and may have been able to get higher than the fence that was in the way.
The fountain was my fav, I like it not crisp. I also liked the sunset pic and am jealous of what looks like a very warm evening. Three four and five were all very interesting, I like the different patterns the light created.
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Like em all. I would have liked to see #5 in full spray.
I don't know why the last one is not sharp except it could be out of focus. All the others are moving and look sharp.
Thanks for your comments. I too wish I would have simply moved back further and captured the full spray of the sparks!! Duh.
DeleteI've read about the steel wool, it looks fantastic! I'd like to try this technique this summer.
ReplyDeleteI love all your pictures Lynn but number 5 was my favorite....Wonderful job Sis!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is #2?
ReplyDeleteJust yard art in their backyard.
Delete#5 is my fav!!! i am going to try this, i have honestly never heard of it. the lighting on #2 is great. as to #6 did you use a tripod? i think you said a railing, also i learned near the end of this to use the 2 second timer, even pushing the shutter can effect the image. so tripod and a your self timer, i have a 2 second one.
ReplyDeleteLynn, absolutely love the sunset photo- beautiful color contrasted and framed by the silhouette of the trees. You ought to enlarge and frame that one! And what fun with the whisk and the steel wool- I didn't know you could light it. It made for some beautiful shots- loved them. I also like the soft water of the fountain- as is!
