  1. Tis the season, and you captured it!
Away in the manger...is sharp and the lighting is perfect. Those pieces look very old and they look perfect on the beautiful cherry wood, are they family pieces?
I always love your trees up on your shelf, the lighting/shadows really draw me in.
Love Santa the soap holder, nice job.
Tree #1, I think is well done, and the decorations are beautiful.
Tree #2, Crazy! I love it - such a cool technique, can't wait to hear how you did that!

  2. Thanks, as always, for your generous comments. The Mary & Joseph/Jesus figures are ones made my Tom's mother in ceramics "class" oh so many years ago! I treasure them. They have survived well.

The table they sit on is from Theron's Aunt Carrye. It sits at the top of my stairway.

Glad you like the shadows on the up shelves. I struggled because of that nutty angle.

Tree #1 - I was trying for the "light twinkle" thing I read about on internet.
Tree #2 - I was trying a technique I also read about. HA, I had taken the wrong lens and the internet example is 1000x better than this. I was proud, however, that I was even able to accomplish a little of the effect.

  4. All your shots caught Christmas but I liked number 2 and 4 the best....I loved the backlighting on two and the detail of the ornaments and tree on 4......great job sissy and you didn't even have to go out in the cold....lol

  5. BTW, how did you get the effect in number 5. At first I thought it was a prism filter but now I'm not sure ????

  6. Nope, not a prism filter (LOL - I don't even know what that is).....I created a 'decent' longer shutter speed and used a variable lens and moved it during the shot. (sheesh, I hope that makes sense.)
