#13 Mailboxes

#1 - I just thought this one was interesting

#2 - Creepy and interesting, don't you agree?

#3 - I really hate this mailbox, but just couldn't stop myself from shooting it!

#4- Ozona! I'll be curious to see if Robin posts this one also since she lives in Ozona! :-)

#5 - Tarpon Springs - former semi-driver for U.S. Post Office lives here. Hey, a double "score" for me on this one!!!

#6 Just an ornate mailbox just around the corner from me.

#7 Can you say Honeysuckle mailbox??!! I think the postman hates this one because of all the bees that are constantly there once all the blossoms come out.

#8 - Tarpon Springs Post Office.....since we have a P.O. Box, I couldn't resist.

#9 - and of course, Tarpon Springs...known for sponge diving!!! Classic!

  1. Hi Lynn! This is what I was hoping for a real mix. Madison told me about the cat one, but I didn't get a chance to go by. I like the mail truck best and yes you should get extra points for that one :-) I also don't care for the fish one and we have several around here. I just couldn't do it. Have a great day.

  2. Wow, you got a whole lot nicer boxes in your neighborhood. I've seen the Bass Box before---but I really like the Tonka truck. My "grown over" box is terrible for the poor mail person. I wouldn't want to reach in there. Your's is nice and neat.
    All great pics.

  3. loved #1! It would have been fun putting the column together! As you ask for comments and suggestions.... composition is as important as proper focus, exposure, etc. You may not have been able to overcome the 'background' in this photo but then, maybe you could - as you shoot, look around the entire viewfinder to see simply moving a few feet left of right could eliminate something distracting in the frame - such as the car?? maybe moving to the right would have put that green bush in the background. that coupled with a large aperture (shallow depth of field) might have put more focus in your subject ... so there, I'm taking a chance of offering 'constructive criticism'... you can also have fun with this... for example, with #5, move to the left and back up to see if you can line up the mailbox 'truck' with the back of the white car making them both look to be the same size... then when you get home and put it on the computer you can say, "ok Rex, that's an idea just not a good one...." (but that's ok, experimenting is fun and film is cheap!!)
