#29 Trees, leaves, branches, twigs........

I have to say....my challenge this week was not taking pictures of trees.....it was taking INTERESTING pictures of trees! I was forced to 'focus' on specifics! - foreground, middle & background! ....or some item of interest within the picture!!....or something different than what others might do. Sheesh - here are my offerings. Can't wait to see what others do with trees!

#1.  This tree is called the Friendship Oak and as you can see, I've taken a photo of an artists' rendering. BTW, this is a lithograph print of this magnificent tree that I purchased it for my husband years ago. This tree is over 500 yrs old!! and grows proudly on the campus of Univ. of Southern MS in Long Beach, MS! I was fortunate enough to climb onto it's platforms and revel in it's beauty!
#2  and the picture below is in our yard.....and just happens to be the 'offspring' of the Friendship Oak. My husband used to work at the campus where this tree lives. One of the maintenance men used to collect acorns and plant them and give seedlings to anyone who wanted one. That's how we got our little piece of beautiful history right in our own front yard!

#3.  Just trees!!

  1. I enjoyed the story about the Friendship Tree and how nice that you have an offspring! My fave is #5 with the sun coming through the tree, then #4 as the walkway gives a story and a place to draw your eye. You didn't have to travel far this week for your pics!

  2. Lynn, I love that you have an offspring of the Friendship Oak- there is a company that sells seedlings from famous trees and you all got one for free. A true friendship oak and very special! And of course I love your Live Oak shots- great composition using that beautiful tree as your subject. Nice job on #5 with the sun star!
